Moraira itself is a small village, which has developed from a quaint fishing village to a popular tourist destination.
The original charm has been preserved. Moraira has a small harbour, a sandy beach and small, pleasant bays. Moraira belongs to the municipality of Teulada, which is 4 km inland. The extensive valleys with their traditional fincas (farmhouses) are close to Teulada and stretch all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.

The total area of the municipality of Moraira-Teulada is 32 km² with 12,000 inhabitants.

The airport of Alicante (ALC) is about 90 km away and the airport of Valencia (VLC) about 120 km. Due to the good motorway connections, the airports can be reached by car in approx. 1 - 1.5 hours (depending on the traffic situation). The famous islands Ibiza and Mallorca are about 55 nautical miles away from the port of Morairas. There are also regular ferries from Denia (30 minutes by car) to the surrounding islands. Towns such as Javea, Benissa, Benitachell or Calpe are in the immediate vicinity.
